Most often seems to refer to the cumulative IC, usually to their army of Assets or the Data Stockpile.

I now think the sun is just a blanket sort of reference to the large organization of Assets. Or the cumulative influence of the federal government. Whereas it used to be the people before the US centralized and consolidated power behind the intelligence community in the information age. 10/22/25

Makes Light, large source of light and heat. Seems to be what the sun people are about.

Energy/life source for earth.

Ie the water cycle/intelligence cycle allegory, sun heats the earth, water evaporates, condenses into rain, rain falls to earth and waters plants this checks out because usually surveillance data has a several day turn around before it is interpreted and synthesized into cues, prompts, or theater for operators.

Update on date unknown March 15, 2026 , it used to take a couple days, things have gotten way faster now and if they have someone standing by, they can typically respond on the fly, either with sfx or with actual conversation, relevant to what I am doing, saying, and even thinking. It sucks. :(

I'm starting to think sun might have a connotation with the Eastern world. If we follow the theory that It started around the bronze age in Greece, the sun might represent the rising of a new day. Japan being the land of the rising sun and having a large red sun on a white background. Even further if you consider regional power dynamics, island nations with strong navies typically do pretty well because land forces can't just roll up on them and burn everything down like the Mongols/Celts/Huns did in continental Asia/Europe. I don't think this worked so well in Africa and the Americas based on terrain challenges, you couldn't just put a bunch of dudes on horses over 30 years and just go do whatever you wanted. I digress.

The sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
