Just kind of spitballing from the outside here but this makes sense to me.
Both in terms of societal structures and in terms of use a metaphor for discussing these topics.
I think religious scriptures arose as a sort of first encoded and written interpretation of the tactics used by the unseen hand post bronze age and in the aftermath of the greek empire where it sounds like they were invented or at leased honed after being stolen from someone that used it on them probably to great effect. Beforehand nobody knew what was going on and they were extra dumb and easy to manipulate. Now you have a bunch of stories that you can teach when people are young and prime them for deeper understanding later.
Noah and the arc: God “killed” everyone else with a Flood # (the unseen hand makes everyone around you Dead)
Eve brings Adam the poisoned apple (dosing) because of a snake (party instigating the betrayal)
Job has everything taken away from him until his only choice was to do what god wanted (precursor to Zersetzung)
Turning water into wine (coopting your SOs for Script \ (thought of these yesterday and this morning I am curious if the allegories hold when translated back. Wine and whine work so well because they are homophones which they might not be in original language.
I’ll write more if I have to remember any other bible stories, these were, thankfully, not as integral to my upbringing as my peers in my youth.
Technology and the means of control likely began to outpace the outdated information sharing techniques developed through religion to the point where the surveillance state has now become a tool of the unseen hand itself which is why it makes sense that there are so many religious people embedded in the government. Their stories lost the power they once had over time and especially with the advent of the industrial revolution and the centering of academia as the primary vehicle for societal narrative maintenance, education, and indoctrination. This was good as there is more accountability and (slightly) less opportunity for bureaucracy. They at least must purport to adhere to peer review and the scientific method. (This does not make them perfect or devoid of influence with regard to the source of funding for the work.
People emphasizing QBits when talking about Noah’s ark as a kid. unsure if this is a modern thing but it would be wild if the ‘Q for question’ (esoterism) pun went back that far, would that be like the King James Version?
