positive reinforcement and negative reinforcement
Basically pavlovian theory. If you do something they don’t like, they’ll try to discourage it with some sort of negative stimuli. It is usually immediate but it can also take the form of retaliation later, usually if that is the case, big they will use related Recognition Signals to clue you in about what they are retaliating for in some way so that you know what is being negatively reinforced.
This works the other way too, they will positively reinforce desired behavior through scripts, ques, easing of pressure, giving you a Good Day where they less actively try to sabotage your activities.
